Programmes

Six programmes already running.

Mechanization Hub · Lakang

Ten acres donated by a member in Amuru District. Two tractors plus implement bundles. The cooperative's first regional hub.

Operator & Mechanic Roster

A registered, certified network of operators and mechanics dispatched against tractor bookings across the four sub-regions.

NUTOFA Marathon

"Run to Change Lives" — annual marathon with chief runner Mrs. Inzikuru Dorcus. Raises maternal-health and mechanization-fund money.

Farmer Group Linkage

41 farmer groups currently in the linkage network — training, VSLAs, supply contracts and group-financed mechanization bookings.

Member Welfare Fund

UGX 5,000 / member / month pooled for sickness, bereavement and school-fees emergencies. Lent at zero interest where reserves allow.

Solar Irrigation Pilots

Through the Expanded Solar Powered Irrigation Systems Programme (NESP), women's rings have received solar pump kits in West Nile and Lango.

In their own words.

Mrs. Doris J. Komakech

"When seven women in our group pooled welfare savings into one solar irrigation kit, we stopped losing cabbages to the dry season. Now our parish leads the harvest into May."

Vice-Chairperson · Lango
Mr. Bongomin Samuel

"The strategic plan calls for four regional hubs. Lakang is operational. We have 5,900 acres of farmer demand on the pipeline and two tractors ready to enter the fleet."

Ms. Akello Grace

"Before the SACCO, my groundnuts went to middlemen at half price. Today I sell at full rate and borrow against my savings to pay school fees in time."
